Materials and equipment spending thousands on equipment and materials?

Business owners spend tens of thousands of dollars each year on materials, machinery, tools, and equipment. These are unavoidable expenses that usually get paid directly from your bank account… earning you nothing in return. With RewardPay, you can pay these same suppliers using your credit card, even if they only accept bank transfers, and earn points.

Materials & Equipment

Whether you’re running a shop, office, factory, medical practice, construction company, restaurant, warehouse, farm, or anything in between—you likely have expenses like desks, chairs, kitchen fit out, IT systems, printers, building materials, security systems, tractors, irrigation equipment, or harvesting machinery. Every one of these purchases can earn valuable credit card reward points. Those points can quickly add up to business‑class flights for you and your family, simply by being smarter about how you pay for the things your business already needs.

For example

Upgrade hospitality equipment — kitchen fit‑out, furniture, POS systems, computers and a delivery van — with $400,000 in spend.
Put it on an American Express Platinum Card at 2.25 Membership Rewards points per $1 and you could earn up to 900,000 Membership Rewards points — enough for up to 3 return business‑class flights to Europe, or around 5–6 return business‑class flights to Asia, simply by investing in your business.

Unlock Significant Rewards Value

Every dollar you spend on your Material and equipment costs and other business expenses is a dollar that could be earning you rewards points. Unlike paying direct from your bank account, where you receive nothing in return, using a credit card through RewardPay converts your business spend into points that can be redeemed for flights, hotel stays, gift cards and more. For a business paying $100,000 annually in combined material or equipment cost and tax, rent and other expenses, this could mean earning enough points for a return international business class flight—value that would otherwise be left on the table.

Improve Cashflow

Improve Cashflow

Credit cards provide a crucial buffer between when your bills are due and when you actually need to settle the payment. With up to 55 days interest-free (depending on your card's billing cycle), you can pay your everyday business payments while keeping your business or personal cash available for urgent expenses, taking advantage of investment opportunities, or waiting for customer invoices to be paid. This short-term financing is provided at no interest cost, unlike a traditional business loan or overdraft facility.

Yes. Equipment is a supported expense category on RewardPay. You can pay machinery suppliers, technology vendors, hardware stores and other equipment providers using your credit card or bank account – even if they do not accept Amex directly. Your supplier receives payment via standard bank transfer. You will need their ABN, bank account details and a payment reference to add them as a payee.

Yes. Equipment payments through RewardPay are eligible to earn Membership Rewards points (when paying by Amex) plus optional Qantas Points or other loyalty rewards. For large equipment purchases, the combination of Membership Rewards points and optional additional rewards can represent significant value – and the RewardPay fee is a deductible business expense.

RewardPay supports both standard and large payments. For Amex card payments, the standard fee of 2.15% + GST applies to transactions up to $20,000, with discounted rates available for larger individual payments. Refer to the rates table on the Pay with RewardPay page at rewardpay.com.au for the full fee schedule. For very large payments, contact the RewardPay team to discuss your options.
