Why Amex?

Business owners who love Amex know the value it delivers—exceptional points earn rates, premium travel rewards, strong cash‑flow benefits, and flexible redemption options. But Amex isn’t accepted everywhere, and many essential business expenses  (ATO, BAS, rent, everyday suppliers, contractors) normally earn reduced or zero points. Example: Make a $100,000 BAS payment using your Amex Business Platinum card with RewardPay and get up to 2.25 points per $1 or 225,000 points. Transfer those points to Qantas or Velocity and you’re looking at a return business‑class flight to Asia, or a one‑way business‑class flight to Europe or the US — all from a tax payment your business already has to make.

How American Express Works with RewardPay

RewardPay enables Amex cardholders to pay expenses that typically don’t accept Amex or don’t offer full points earn, by acting as a secure payment facilitator. You pay RewardPay with your Amex; RewardPay pays your supplier via EFT or BPAY, essentially allowing you to pay bills with Amex.  This unlocks several advantages:

girl
  • Earn full Amex Membership Rewards or Qantas Points, even on ATO, BAS, utilities, rent, marketing, legal and supplier payments.
  • Up to 55 days extra cash flow, thanks to the Amex interest‑free period.

No. RewardPay is a payment platform, not a card issuer. To get an American Express card, visit americanexpress.com/au. Once you have an Australian-issued Amex card, you can add it to your RewardPay wallet and start earning Membership Rewards points on all your business payments.

Amex transaction rates (ex GST) depend on your subscription tier and individual payment size. On the Free tier, rates start at 2.10% for payments up to $100k, reducing to 1.65% for payments over $2M. Silver tier ($79/month) rates start at 2.05%. Gold tier ($159/month) rates start at 1.90% – the best available. Discounts apply to individual supplier payments only. Visit rewardpay.com.au/pay-with-rewardpay for the full tiered rate schedule.

Yes. When you pay via your American Express card through RewardPay, you earn the Membership Rewards points associated with your card on every dollar spent – just as you would on any other Amex purchase. You can also optionally earn Qantas Points, Velocity Points, Accor points, Airpoints or Luxury Escapes credits on top by selecting your preferred earn tier when creating a payment (additional fees apply).
