Getting Started

RewardPay is designed for Australian businesses. If your business is registered in Australia and has an active ABN, you’re eligible to sign up and start making payments through the platform.

Signing up for RewardPay is free, takes around 5 minutes, and there are no setup fees or ongoing obligations. Once registered, you can start making payments and earning rewards straight away.

Step-by-step: How to sign up

  1. Go to rewardpay.com.au and click the Sign Up button in the top right corner, or go directly to secure.rewardpay.com.au/register.
  2. Enter your ABN – your business name and address will auto-populate where possible.
  3. Fill in your email address and mobile number.
  4. Create a password for your account.
  5. Check your email for a verification link and confirm your address.
  6. Log in and complete identity verification for yourself using one of the accepted ID documents listed above.

Once you and all relevant Beneficial Owners identity are verified, you’re account will be ready to start transacting.

You can verify your identity using any one of the following Australian documents:

Documents:

  • Australian Driver’s Licence
  • Australian Passport
  • Medicare Card
  • Australian Citizenship Certificate
  • Australian Birth Certificate

When signing up to RewardPay, you will be prompted to complete your ID verification while registering for an account.

  • Note: If you don’t complete it at this stage, you will still be able to log into your RewardPay account but you won’t be able to process payments until this step is complete.

If you don’t complete the ID verification straight away, you can access it again in your account by following the steps below:

  1. Log in to your RewardPay portal at secure.rewardpay.com.au
  2. Click on the orange exclamation mark on the to right-hand corner of your account, which will open up the ID verification process again.
  3. Select your preferred identity document from the options above
  4. Enter the details as they appear on your document then submit
  5. You will receive an email for verification,  typically completed instantly via RewardPay’s Document Verification Service

If there’s any issues with the information that is received, our compliance team will need to manually review your submission. They may require additional information and will be in touch should this be the case.

Identity verification is a legal requirement, not just a RewardPay policy. As a financial services business, RewardPay is registered with AUSTRAC (Australia’s financial intelligence agency) and is required by law to verify the identity of all customers and their organisations before processing payments.

This requirement comes from the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Act 2006 (AML/CTF Act), which places obligations on Australian financial institutions to detect and prevent money laundering and terrorism financing.

Refer to our Terms and Conditions for more information.

A Beneficial Owner is any individual who either:

  • Owns 25% or more of your business (e.g. a company, trust, or partnership), or
  • Has day-to-day financial or management control over your business — even if they don’t hold a formal ownership stake

This is a legal definition under Australia’s AML/CTF legislation, and RewardPay is required to collect and verify this information before processing payments.

This is a legal requirement under the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Act 2006 (AML/CTF Act). As an AUSTRAC-registered business, RewardPay is legally obligated to identify and verify not just the person using the platform, but also the individuals who ultimately own or control the business making payments.

This process is known as ‘Know Your Business’ (KYB) and is standard practice across all regulated Australian / New Zealand financial services providers.
